Vote in the Wisconsin Conservation Congress 2022 Spring Hearing!

Support resolutions banning wildlife killing contests and promoting coexistence by Thursday, April 14!

The Wisconsin Conservation Congress’ 2022 Spring Hearing provides citizens with the opportunity to submit input on state wildlife and natural resource issues by voting on introduced resolutions. There is no residency or age requirement, so everyone’s input will be considered (out-of-state votes are counted separately).

This year, a coalition of Wisconsin wildlife advocates have coordinated the introduction of a number of resolutions favorable to wildlife, including:

  • banning wildlife killing contests
  • outlawing hounding and baiting
  • and requesting funding for non-lethal methods.

Read more about the important resolutions up for consideration.

Although some of these regulations do not go as far as we would like, they are an important step in the direction of more ethical wildlife policies and we are encouraging our supporters to vote in support of those policies, and against any increases in wildlife killing.

Please act TODAY in support of coexistence with wildlife in Wisconsin!

Here are two ways you can get involved today:

  1.  Fill out the 2022 Spring Hearing, a virtual survey allowing for broad participation (remember, there are no residency requirements; check out the WCC Online Input FAQ). The survey is open from 7 p.m. Monday, April 11 through 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14.
    1. Once you log in through the link above, please follow the survey directions carefully, and remember to refer to the Online Input FAQ above in case of issues.
    2. Please reserve at least 30 minutes to complete the survey.
    3. Follow this WCC voting guide drafted by a coalition of Wisconsin wildlife advocates for the most important Spring Hearing resolutions (see below for our highlighted resolutions).
    4. You will encounter other resolutions to vote on between those resolutions included in the voting guide. Please feel free to vote using your best judgment, or skip if desired (you have the option to answer “NO OPINION” to most questions).
  2. Spread the word by sharing this alert with friends and family and encourage them to take action.
