Montana Residents:
Speak up in Defense of Montana’s Wolves
Late last year, Project Coyote sued the state of Montana over their aggressive wolf hunting and trapping policies. Our litigation in defense of Montana’s wolves continues, but we need your help advocating for Montana’s wolves.
In January, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte directed Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks (FWP) to develop a new Wolf Plan to govern wolf management in the state. FWP has published a draft plan along with the corresponding Draft Environmental Impact Statement (Draft EIS), currently open for comment. As drafted, the plan fails to consider the best available science, ethics, and broad public values that support the protection, not persecution, of Montana’s wolves. We need your help to defend Montana’s wolves.
Join us in urging Montana FWP to finalize a plan grounded in science and ethical coexistence.
Here’s how you can help
Submit written testimony on the draft Wolf Plan and the corresponding Draft Environmental Impact Statement (Draft EIS) using these talking points to fwpwolfplaneis@mt.gov. In the subject line or the body of your email be sure to include that you are commenting on BOTH the draft wolf plan and the Draft EIS. Please submit your message by December 19.
