BIO
Amelia Perrin is the Communications Manager at Project Coyote where she oversees communications and media relations in support of the organization’s mission to protect wild carnivores and promote coexistence through education, science, and advocacy.
Before joining Project Coyote, Amelia worked to protect America’s wild horses from misguided federal policy through bold communications campaigns. She led a national investigation into the Adoption Incentive Program, which was funneling wild horses and burros to slaughter, landing a front page New York Times exposé. Her work ultimately contributed to the shut down of the program.
She brings a sharp eye for storytelling and a lifelong commitment to animal protection.
Amelia is completing her B.A. in Journalism at the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication. She has reported on environmental accountability, including municipal climate policy, as well as criminal justice and incarceration issues.
Outside of work, she lives in Eugene, Oregon with her partner and their two dogs, Mac and Rocky.
