Illinois Residents: Help ban wildlife killing contests!

We’re closer than ever before to our goal of banning wildlife killing contests (WKCs) in Illinois. On May 15, the Illinois House passed HB2900 (Rep. Moeller), which would prohibit WKCs statewide, by a 62-45 vote. That means the bill must now pass the Senate!

Time ran out during the regular legislative session, but we have another opportunity during veto session in November to pass this bill in the Senate. We are so close to banning these egregious contests, but your Senators need to hear from you TODAY.

Here’s How You Can Help Ban
Wildlife Killing Contests in Illinois:

1. Send your Senator a letter with just one click! Tap the button below:

2. Call to your Senator’s office to double your impact!

      • Look up your legislator here. Enter your address into the search function and select “State Senator.” Click “website” to find your Senator’s phone number.
      • Use this script when speaking to your senator’s office:
        • “Hello, my name is _______. I am an Illinois State resident, and I am calling to urge Senator [Insert Senator name] to support HB2900 to ban wildlife killing contests statewide. These contests disregard ecological health and sound management and serve no legitimate wildlife management purpose. Please support HB2900 and protect our state’s wildlife from unethical and unnecessary killing.”
    • Feel free to personalize with these talking points, but keep your comment short, concise and polite.

Thank you for your crucial support of our campaign to End Wildlife Killing Contests in The Prairie State!
