FARMING WITH WILDLIFE WORKSHOP

Agriculture and Wildlife Protection Program

On Saturday, March 17, 2018, the Agriculture and Wildlife Protection Program (AWPP) hosted a workshop about non-lethal wildlife deterrents to protect livestock and crops. The workshop program includes presentations from leading experts and a tour of Red Bird Acres, a local farm currently using guardian dogs, portable electric net fencing and Foxlights to protect livestock. The AWPP is a two-year pilot educational outreach and reimbursement grant program to encourage the proactive use of non-lethal animal damage deterrents in an effort to foster the coexistence of agriculture and wildlife in Benton County.
