Speak up for Wildlife in Nevada!

Nevada is one of the last states among its neighbors that still allow bobcats, coyotes, foxes and other wildlife to be targeted in cruel and senseless wildlife killing contests, in which participants compete to kill the most, the largest, or even the smallest animals solely for cash and prizes.

We recently asked you to submit comments in support of banning killing contests in Nevada through Assembly Bill 102. The bill was considered during a hearing for the Assembly Committee on Natural Resources but has not received a vote yet. We need to make sure this bill is not forgotten.

As a quick update regarding another bill, Assembly Bill 70 would have removed an existing legal mandate – referred to as the 80% lethal mandate – that currently uses a $3 application processing fee of game tags for ‘lethal control’ of predators. This bill has been amended to allow those purchasing game tags to vote on how the money is used. Given this change, we are no longer supporting AB70.

Nevada Residents Only:

Let legislators know that you support AB102 by April 10th!

Here are three ways you can get involved:

    1. If you live in Nevada, tell the Assembly Natural Resource committee to support AB102 using these talking points (and please remember to personalize and be respectful). Be sure to submit your comments by April 10th.
    2. Share this alert on social media, forward it to your network and ask fellow Nevadans to submit comments supporting AB102.

Thank you for helping protect Nevada’s wildlife!
