It’s an exciting time of growth and expansion for Project Coyote with a number of job opportunities we’d like to share.

Project Coyote and The Rewilding Institute, along with The Half-Earth Project, are partnering in a new collaborative initiative to support BeWildReWild’s vision for a wilder, more beautiful, more biologically diverse, and more enduring Mississippi River Watershed through the BIG RIVER CONNECTIVITY project. Goals of this ambitious initiative range from rewilding floodplains and steep slopes to promoting the recolonization of apex predators and keystone species essential to healthy ecosystems. To support this new collaboration with a Midwestern focus, we’re hiring a Science and Conservation Manager to lead and implement this work ~ read more here. We’re also hiring a Coexistence Coordinator to make connections among potential partners and tell the story of this vital work ~ read more here.

We’ll also be hiring a Carnivore Conservation Coordinator to support our programs and campaigns across the West and Midwest, and we’re currently on the search for an Operations and Outreach Manager to help us with strategic expansion during this exciting time of our growth. You can read that job description here.

The late great conservation biologist Michael Soulé—a Project Coyote science advisor until his passing in 2020—emphasized that successful large-scale conservation depends on three 3Cs: Cores, Connectivity, Carnivores, and eventually added a fourth: Coexistence. Project Coyote’s expansion of programs into the Midwest contributes to each of these Cs by working with TRI to strategically identify core habitat and the connectivity between them and implement our carnivore coexistence programs accordingly.

We’re so excited and fortunate to do this work. Will you join us?

Please consider applying or sharing this with candidates who are interested in joining us in rewilding the heartland!
