Wolves need our help! A war continues against endangered wolves across the United States, a war that will gain deadly momentum if the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s (FWS) proposal to remove federal protection for gray wolves is approved.

Although the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has postponed the public hearing on the proposal to remove ESA protection for most gray wolves, that won’t stop us from speaking out.

Penning, the practice of confining coyotes and foxes in fenced enclosures and allowing packs of dogs to chase and often maul them for “sport” and “entertainment”— with little opportunity for protection or escape— is a cruel and vicious practice that is prevalent in Virginia and several other states.

Please join Project Coyote in calling on the California Department of Fish & Wildlife (Department) and the California Fish & Game Commission (Commission) to stop a coyote hunting contest planned for early February in Modoc County and to conduct a top to bottom evaluation of the state’s approach to managing predators in California.

Every year thousands of animals are trapped on National Wildlife Refuges Wildlife including coyotes, bobcats, otters, fox, wolves, and beavers—often for “recreation” and profit (fur).

As you may recall from our previous action alerts, the Indiana Natural Resources Commission (INRC) is considering a proposed rule to legalize the practice of coyote/fox “penning” (penning involves sending packs of domestic dogs into a fenced-off enclosure to chase to exhaustion and often tear apart a captive coyote or fox- ostensibly to “train” hunting hounds how to better pursue and hunt coyotes and foxes in the wild).

Your help is needed – immediately- to help stop two bills that would legalize bounties on coyotes and beaver in Minnesota.
