CHLOE HARVELL
PROJECT COYOTE POLICY AND LEGAL INTERN
In her role as a summer legal intern, Chloe helps research regulations and predator management practices across the country. Chloe is a rising second-year law student at the University of Oregon. She moved from Utah, where she developed a love for sagebrush, birds, and all manner of outdoor activities. In college, Chloe studied wildlife science and worked for nonprofits working to protect western wildlife. Chloe was part of research into the risk factors of bird species involved in window collisions and nesting success in fragmented sagebrush steppe.
After seeing the incredible work advocates do for their communities, Chloe decided to go to law school with hopes of contributing to policy changes for the benefit of both wildlife and the environment. She is a fellow at UO’s Environmental and Natural Resources Center and is part of the incoming board of directors for the National Lawyer’s Guild. She also is the incoming editor-in-chief of the Western Environmental Law Update, Land Air Water’s publication, which gathers art and commentary related to climate change from UO and beyond. Chloe hopes to be part of a systemic change that benefits both humans and wildlife moving forward, especially those communities that have been historically impacted. When she’s not learning, she loves playing video games, baking, and mountain biking and hiking with her two dogs and partner.
