ERIN HAUGE
PROGRAM ASSOCIATE
Erin is focused on spreading awareness and understanding about the urgent plight of our native carnivores as they navigate habitat loss and human cruelty and intolerance. She is solution-oriented and believes that practicing coexistence and cultivating respect and tolerance for coyotes, wolves, pumas, bobcats and other native wildlife are key to our survival. As a Project Coyote Program Associate, she assists in promoting the organization’s mission by producing written materials, advocating for state and local policies, and participating in public outreach.
Erin is a native Californian and earned a B.A. in Fine Arts, going on to work in the non-profit world for over 23 years. She began volunteering for Project Coyote in 2014 after she saw her first wild wolves in Yellowstone. She also volunteers at the Cosumnes River Preserve as an interpretive naturalist and citizen scientist. Erin has organized local presentations on living with mountain lions, and presentations on grey wolves and why they should remain listed under federal protection. She is a certified California Naturalist and ecologist and spends as much time as she can in the outdoors, hiking and photographing nature. Erin believes that citizen advocacy is a critical voice for changing laws and policies to better protect wildlife and conserve habitat.
