SEBASTIANO COSSIA CASTIGLIONI

Sebastiano is a global authority on plant-based business and investment and is dedicated to the worldwide promotion of a plant-based lifestyle and an animal-free food supply. In keeping with his belief system, he founded venture capital firm Vegan Capital and was an early investor in Beyond Meat. He is also a partner in Blue Horizon, a Swiss-based investment company at the crossroads of food security, health, sustainability, and animal welfare. He and his partner (and co-founder) Miray Zaki recently launched Dismatrix, a fund dedicated to dynamic capital solutions and vegan investments.

Sebastiano has been involved in animal welfare since the age of 15. He serves on the advisory boards of Sea Shepherd, the International Anti-Poaching Foundation and Animal Equality, and on the boards of Animal Outlook and the Culture & Animals Foundation. He recently launched the Plant-Based Empowerment Foundation, which is dedicated to plant-based nutrition and education projects and is focused on women and children in Senegal.
