#GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities—and to give back to those in need. We depend on you—our supporters—to help us stop the abuse and mismanagement of North America’s misunderstood and persecuted wild carnivores. Coyotes, bears, bobcats, mountain lions, wolves—each individual animal with his or her own personality, interests, and capacity to suffer—are under siege, and depend on us to be their voice.

What does it mean to coexist with wildlife? How do we define coexistence and measure it in the real world? Do professionals agree on how, where and when we’re coexisting with some of the most controversial carnivores? Since the founding pair’s arrival in 2016, the pack has produced litters annually—the latest boasting eight pups. It is entirely possible for humans and native predators to coexist in California, and the future of the Lassen Pack depends on our commitment to making such coexistence a reality.

We’re thrilled to share the positive news that California just became the first state in the nation to effectively ban rodenticides! Today, California Governor Newsom signed AB 1788 into law. This hard-fought bill imposes a moratorium on the use of second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides, thereby saving the lives of thousands of bobcats, coyotes, mountain lions, foxes, raptors and other non-target species who would have suffered and died, victims to secondary exposure from these deadly rat poisons.
