Today on this Giving Tuesday, I join members of our New Mexico team at the Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge to work on a new film project and a social media campaign—we hope to bring even more attention to the horrors of wildlife killing contests and the prevalence of carnivore mismanagement, and we will offer non-lethal solutions for coexistence with our wild neighbors.
Your support has helped us advance our campaign to end these brutal events across the nation. In the last 18 months alone, we have joined our partners in the National Coalition to End Wildlife Killing Contests to spearhead efforts that led to the passage of state laws in Vermont and New Mexico that prohibited killing contests, and and administrative rule in Arizona that banned them for predatory and furbearing species. The New Mexico Land Commissioner also abolished wildlife killing contests for unprotected species on 9 million acres of state trust lands.
During our visit to New Mexico, we will also unveil a new trailer for our film Wild & Woolly. We created this film to synergize with our Ranching with Wildlife program; again, we spread the message of coexistence and help create a kinder world wherein each life is respected and valued.
We plan to expand our successful Coyote Friendly Communities and Keeping It Wild programs to reach even more communities, educators and youth nationwide and teach that native carnivores matter and that we can peacefully and safely live beside our wild neighbors.
We need your help to achieve our goals!
Please give generously to help us end brutal wildlife mismanagement practices and spread our message of compassionate coexistence.
And this year each dollar of your donation goes even further!*
Patagonia Action Works has generously offered to match donations to its member organizations (up to a limit of $10,000 per individual donation) from November 29 through December 31! If you haven’t already donated via the PAW Portal, we encourage you take advantage of this quick and simple way to boost your impact. Patagonia has made it easy—just click here and then click on the Donate button.
Our supporters know that we do not spend your hard earned dollars on mailed solicitations or acquisition mailings, nor do we sell or exchange member lists. Your donations go directly to support our work for wildlife. A monthly or quarterly donation—in whatever amount—will help sustain our work now and into the future.
Thank you for sharing our concerns and for donating to protect coyotes, bobcats, foxes, and other wild animals. We are deeply grateful for your support.
