Montana Residents: Speak Out Against HB 372!

Oppose this constitutional amendment to make trapping, hunting, and fishing the “preferred” and “primary” methods of wildlife management

It’s been a terrible year for wildlife in the Montana legislature as the war on carnivores continues, with bill after bill introduced that would open the door for catastrophic consequences for the state’s native carnivore species.

Today we need your help opposing one of the most egregious bills introduced this session, HB 372, a proposed constitutional amendment to make trapping, hunting, and fishing constitutional rights. Even worse, the bill would make these practices the “preferred” and “primary” methods of wildlife management.

A vocal minority is driving this bill forward and state legislators need to hear from YOU that they should vote NO on HB 372.

Wolves, grizzlies and all Montana’s wildlife need your help.

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Submit written testimony to your House Representative and State Senator opposing HB 372. On March 14th the bill was heard by the House Judiciary Committee and the bill is likely to pass out of Committee soon. Next, the bill will be voted on by the House of Representatives.
    • Find your legislator here by clicking on your district and locate their email address.
    • Craft your written testimony in opposition to the bill using these talking points.
    • Extra credit: Give your representative a call and tell them why you strongly oppose this bill.
  2. Write a Letter to the Editor (LTE) and submit it to your local newspaper. Use these talking points.
  3. Spread the word by sharing this alert with other Montana residents and encourage them to take action.

Thank you for standing up for wildlife in Montana!
