NM Residents: The Last Step in Banning Traps & Poisons on New Mexico Public Lands!
Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham needs to sign SB32 into law ~ Speak up now to get Roxy’s Law across the finish line!
Last week we celebrated the state legislature’s vote in support of SB32 to ban traps and poisons on New Mexico’s public lands. But our opponents aren’t giving up in their efforts to prevent this important bill from final passage ~ and neither can we! With gratitude to everyone who has already spoken up in support of Roxy’s Law, we ask for one more action on behalf of New Mexico’s wildlife and public lands: to please contact Governor Lujan Grisham and ask her to sign SB32 into law!
Please speak up TODAY with three actions!
- Call the Governor’s office at 505-476-2200 and let the Receptionist know you would like to comment on SB32. You will be transferred to a voicemail system to leave your message. Please:
a. State your name and NM city or county of residence.
b. Be respectful, polite and positive.
c. Urge Governor Lujan Grisham to sign SB32 into law and briefly mention that:
i. the benefits of SB32 are many: public safety, humane and modern wildlife management, the importance of outdoor recreation and our green economy;
ii. SB32 would protect humans, working dogs, companion animals and wildlife; and
iii. Nonlethal tools are available and scientifically proven to be more effective than traps and poisons for protecting livestock.
- Send the Governor a follow up email using the online form here, and include the same brief points above.
- Ask your friends and family in New Mexico to support Roxy’s Law by sharing this alert through social media.
Thank you for helping to end trapping and poisoning
on New Mexico’s public lands!
