This week, I’m joining members of Project Coyote’s team in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to participate in the Wildlife for All – Re-Envisioning State Wildlife Governance conference. This summit, organized by the Southwest Environmental Center and the Western Wildlife Conservancy, brings together leading wildlife advocates to discuss reforming state wildlife agency governance and modernizing our approach to predator and biodiversity conservation and stewardship. Read more here: “Albuquerque summit to address crisis of state wildlife management in the U.S.“
Today, Project Coyote Science Advisory Board member Dr. Adrian Treves and I will participate in panel discussions. Wednesday, I will present our documentary film KILLING GAMES ~ Wildlife In The Crosshairs, and will meet with our newly formed National Coalition to End Wildlife Killing Contests to develop successful campaign strategies for banning these deadly events across the nation.
We’re excited to be in New Mexico, where grassroots momentum is building to ban coyote killing contests and trapping on public lands through the state legislature in 2019.
Despite the challenges, we are energized and feeling optimistic—especially since we know we have your support.
For wild nature,
~ The Project Coyote Team
