Thank you for helping to make 2019—and the first decade of Project Coyote’s existence—wildly successful for wildlife! Together we have saved thousands of coyotes, bobcats, bears, wolves, mountain lions and other species from cruel and inhumane killing contests, trapping, poisoning, aerial gunning and other antiquated and senseless killing practices. Most recently, with urging from Project Coyote and our coalition partners, as well as a groundswell of support from local citizens, the St. Paul, MN City Council voted unanimously to pass a resolution condemning wildlife killing contests. As local resolutions did in Arizona, we’re hopeful that this will lead to a state-wide ban. We’ve also assisted dozens of communities—both urban and rural—with concrete solutions for how we can better coexist with native carnivores.
We want to share some of our Victories and Highlights for Wildlife in 2019 and the past decade:
Our core team now numbers 57, with representatives—including educators, wildlife photographers, scientists, community leaders, predator-friendly ranchers, attorneys, and other individuals with diverse talents and experiences—across the country. This year we plan to expand our staff into the Midwest, the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Northwest. Our work is entirely funded by the generosity of foundations and individuals like you who believe in our mission to promote coexistence between people and wildlife through education, science and advocacy. We are proud of our achievements, and look forward to building a more humane world for wildlife in 2020 and the coming years.
Wishing you and your loved ones a healthy, prosperous and compassionate new year. Thank you for your partnership and commitment to the Wild Ones.

About Project Coyote
Project Coyote is a national non-profit organization based in Northern California whose mission is to promote compassionate conservation and coexistence between people and wildlife through education, science and advocacy. Our representatives, advisory board members and supporters include scientists, educators, ranchers and citizen leaders who work together to change laws and policies to protect native carnivores from abuse and mismanagement, advocating coexistence instead of killing. We seek to change negative attitudes toward coyotes, wolves and other misunderstood predators by replacing ignorance and fear with understanding, respect and appreciation.
