Ann Piquette
Development & Operations Coordinator

BIO

Ann Piquette is the Development Operations Coordinator at Project Coyote, where she maintains the organization’s fundraising database and supports donor communications and development initiatives.

Originally from rural Illinois, Ann grew up surrounded by animals—both wild and domestic—that inspired a lifelong love for all creatures. Her childhood was spent among a pack of rescue dogs and cats who were her closest companions, and she had the opportunity to care for injured wildlife, including hawks, deer, crows, and field mice. The sound of coyote yips was woven into the soundtrack of her childhood, fostering a lasting respect for these misunderstood creatures.

Ann moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2014 to study English at Lewis & Clark College. After earning her degree, she began her career in nonprofit development, where she combines her passions for storytelling, organization, and compassionate advocacy. Before joining Project Coyote, Ann worked in development roles in higher education, where she managed donor communications and fund stewardship. She also holds certificates in copy editing and prose writing, which inform her work crafting thoughtful communications that advance coexistence between humans and wildlife. She believes that storytelling has the power to inspire empathy and transform the way humans relate to the natural world.

Ann lives in Portland, Oregon, with her cat and best friend, Leona. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, writing, swimming in the Columbia River, and exploring a range of fiber arts, including sewing and crochet.
