Webinar Series: Wild Voices: Art, Advocacy, & Animal Nature

Wild Voices is a new webinar series hosted by author, rewilding facilitator, and Project Coyote Artist for Wild Nature ambassador Vanessa Chakour. The series explores how art and land‑based practice help us remember our own animal nature and speak on behalf of the more‑than‑human world. Each interactive conversation looks at how creative practice becomes a form of ecological relationship — a way to listen more closely and stand for species who cannot advocate for themselves. Through movement, foraging, writing, and visual storytelling, we explore how reconnecting with our bodies and our ecosystems strengthens our capacity to protect the wild.

WEBINAR SCHEDULE

March 24, 2026, 3 PM ET / 12 PM PT: Writing on Behalf of Other Species w/ Brandon Keim

How do we write on behalf of other species in a way that honors their lives and deepens our relationship with the natural world? In this webinar, Project Coyote Ambassador and author Vanessa Chakour joins journalist and author Brandon Keim to explore how language shapes our relationship with the wild—how the words we choose can either distance us from other animals or bring us into deeper kinship. They’ll look at the limits of human‑centered storytelling and the shifts that become possible when we change perspective.

The session includes moments of reflection and participation, inviting attendees to consider who they feel called to speak for and how their words might make a difference. Brandon will also share practical guidance on bringing this work into public view, including the impact of publishing in outlets where writing can directly support wildlife and habitat protection. We’ll close with a call to action for those ready to use their voice on behalf of the wild.

This webinar is for anyone who feels called to speak for other species and wants their words to carry weight in a time of overwhelming content and AI‑generated noise.

The event recording will be shared with all registrants.
