Action Alert: Protect Colorado’s Communities & Wildlife from Deadly Poisons: Support SB26-062

In recent years, Colorado has adopted policies to combat climate change, banned wildlife killing contests, and Thanks to strong public support, SB26-062 passed from the Colorado Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee!

This is an important milestone, but the work is not done. The bill is now headed to a full Senate vote, and your Senator needs to hear from you today.

Rodenticides continue to poison far more than their intended targets. In Colorado, testing shows widespread exposure among wildlife that naturally keep rodent populations in balance.

A 2015 study found that 100% of sampled Denver-area coyotes had been exposed to rodenticides. Rodenticides are also a leading cause of pet poisonings in Colorado.

SB26-062 offers a smarter path forward. It restricts the sale, use, and application of many rodenticides and promotes safer, more effective pest management practices rooted in Integrated Pest Management.

Now we must ensure the full Senate understands that Colorado wants this protection!
